So, in order to prevent any legal issues, it’s advised that you only play games that you already own or ones that you’ve ripped from the CD or cartridge yourself. I have emulators for other systems that work just fine so i've never needed to load any other cores.Note: While emulators themselves are legal, downloading ROMs or ISO images of games that you intend on playing on the emulator falls under the category of piracy. Not saying that it doesn't do a good job emulating other systems. It's honestly the only thing i use Retroarch for. Like i said, i personally prefer individual emulators but when it comes to Snes, i think Retroarch is the bess emulator. I have installed Retroarch and using the the Snes9x core within i have had no problems with it. I know it's no longer available on the Play store but i needed to mention my experience with that emulator because it's commonly recommended. There are lots of places in that game where it lags like hell. Super Mario World 2 is a great example of this. It worked alright most of the time but it couldn't keep up occasionally. Despite this i had SNES9x installed on my phone and it just didn't cut it.
I personally prefer individual emulators opposed to the culminating design that Retroarch takes. I haven't used a NES emulator yet so i'm only going to talk about SNES.
